John Njord, Executive
Director, Transportation of Utah Department of Transportation

John R. Njord has served as Executive Director of the Utah Department
of Transportation (UDOT) since May 2001. UDOT is an agency of 1,800 employees with
responsibility for the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of the 6,000-mile
state system of roads and highways.

Mr. Njord joined the Department in 1988, where he has served as the Deputy Director,
Chief Engineer and Urban Planning Engineer. He also
served as the UDOT Director of Transportation Planning with 2002 Salt Lake
Winter Olympic
Organizing Committee.
Mr. Njord is the past President of the AASHTO and a member of the ASCE. The Public Relations Society of America named Mr. Njord
the "Utah Communicator of the Year" in November 2002. He graduated from the
University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered
professional engineer.

Yong-Joo Cho, Director General, Road Bureau
at Ministry of Construction & Transportation, Korea

Dr. Cho has served the Ministry
as the Director General of Transport Systems Planning in Metropolitan Area and Technology
& Safety Planning. He is the President of Korean Society of Road Engineers. |

He was the Visiting
Scholar at Centre for Transport Studies at University College London. He received
Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Hanyang University, M.S. from Purdue University
and B.S. from Hanyang University, all in Civil Engineering. Dr. Cho was awarded
with the prestigious Order of Service Merit (Green Stripes) and Service Merit Medal.
He is a registered professional engineer in both Road & Airport and Transportation
in Korea. |
